For both of them, the reconciling of Buddhist principles and the worldly ways of work have at times been difficult, but also proved possible. They know that there are many others who have similar dilemmas from the moment they chose which course to study at University, during their time there, entering the workforce and all the way to retirement.

So together they sketched the foundations of Samma Ajiva: an association of Buddhists and good-willed professionals who are interested in incorporating Buddhist principles and morality in their chosen careers. A place where people from all walks of life can come together to share their experiences, their stories, their difficulties, their solutions to challenges, and their inspiration for others to continue their work in building a better world for all. A place where we can be that support for each other when times are tough, be a reminder to each other when life gets busy, and be a resource to connect with one another from all over the world.

Depending on whether the causes and conditions are right, we hope to develop a mentoring and speaker program. We believe that it is extremely important especially in the early stages of one’s career to have a mentor who is not only skilled in their professional field, but also one who has the compassion to teach and the wisdom to guide one on the right path.

As we stand at the beginning, it is useless to predict what the future will be.  But we believe that with your contributions, together we can bring Samma Ajiva into our workplace, as well as ourselves.
